ok I will do that. Also you want me to keep the old server still open.
While it shouldnât make any difference, you can stop the server for now using the task tray icon.
ok im logged in but i only see the Desktop name that appears for the cloned server (new Computer).
Your account again shows that the other server has been removed from your account.
I donât know what to say man, i did exactly step by step the way you instructed me.
Are you operating both machines each with their own keyboard and monitor?
yes I am, they both have a keyboard, mouse and monitor, seperately for each work station.
I have to inquire something internally. In the meantime, I recommend you to investigate local file sharing. It should be relatively easy among Windows machines.
Basically what you want is to create a file share with the top folder of your media.
Which then should be accessible from the other computer, if you type in
\\computername\sharename\foldername in the file explorerâs address bar.
The moment I turned on PMS on my original older system, i can now see that the desktop name has been changed to that system even when im on new pc.
Thatâs because you are not looking at the local server, when you open the web app.
You are looking at your plex user account. And the plex user account contains only one server as of now.
Is that how it was from the start. Did I only have 1 server, when we started all of this?
Originally, yes. We then worked to disentagle the two machines, by giving each their own, individual machine ID.
I now see two servers, alas one is always in a state of âdeletedâ, as soon as you claim the other one.
wow, thats strange. I donât know what is causing that.
I might look into windows Local sharing then if that is an easy solutation. I donât care what method I use, I just want to be able to access my data from two seperate systems, running on the same server.
To make things easy, I recommend you to have the same identical Windows user name and password on both machines.
You mean for my plex account? I do its always the same. Its all tied to one account.
No! The Windows user name and password.
oh oh i see, yeah they are kind of very similiar, just slightly different.
Which means they are different.
How do I get my plex data to work on my PS5 again? I canât get nothing to be displayed on there since we did these troubleshooting steps. Do I just remove the authorized device and link it up again?
