Hauppauge Quad Tuner not found

My Hauppauge tuner is not found by Plex. It has the option to set up manually, but that doesn’t help since it’s an internal card.

Could you possibly provide more details such as what Plex server version are you running? Is your tuner listed in the supported tuners?

I have the hauppauge wintv-quadHD ATSC in my windows 10 box that’s also running PMS plexpass (1.7.2.3878). But, it doesn’t detect anything either.

That is a supported card according to the updated information released today.

Yes. The tuner is listed. WinTV-quadHD. Media sever 1.5.6.3790

documentation says you must have PMS 1.7.2 to support PCI tuners. I do, but still doesn’t work for me.

Hey all,

I just figured it out. If you to go Settings>Server>General, you have to change your Update channel from public to Plex Pass. This should solve it.

I’m already on the latest plex pass PMS and update channel has always been plex pass. It doesn’t detect my supported PCI card.

Hi, @repentance, if you want to share logs (Plex Media Server and Plex Tuner Service) we would be happy to take a look.

OK good. Logs attached. Thanks!

Thanks for the logs. We’re looking thru them and notice the tuner it shows up is being ignored. We tested the quadhd again in QA and it works, so I’m concerned that there’s different versions of the quadhd floating around…

I have an email into Happauge and will let you know.

Just so you know, it shows up in device manager as
Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD (Model 1651xx-1, Dual ATSC/QAM, IR)
and
Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD (Model 1651xx-2, Dual ATSC/QAM)
since it’s basically two dual tuners for 4 total.

But, DVBlink software and plex tuner service see a wintv 885. Maybe you know why the difference in model number.

Currently it appears:

PCI device 8880 = QuadHD 1609
PCI device 8852 = QuadHD 1607

We were unaware of two different PCI ids. We’re checking to see if there’s more. The devices we got were 1607s and it looks like you have a 1609.

OK, looks like you’ve got it figured out. Will this take a PMS update to fix?

Yup, it will, can’t give an ETA, but will work at getting it out as soon as possible. Thanks again for your patience and the logs!

Just chiming in that I also have the same tuner @repentance mentioned and am looking forward to the update.

Same here, telling myself patience… must have patience…

I’m getting the same problem (or similar)

It’s the UK model which uses the Si2168. Please can you update me, as I’ve just spent £110 for a tuner which is listed as supported, yet is being ignored by plex! Is it possible to force plex to use it, since it clearly knows it’s there!

@tempk490 - thank you for this…this solved my issue as well

So we found out there’s 2 models of the quadhd, and we’ve only built in support for one. We’re adding it and the next release will support both of them. Thanks for your patience guys!

Please add (if possible), all Hauppauge PCI quadHD cards. I have three… Currently using ArgusTV+Plex+Kodi, but I would like to simplify setup running just Plex DVR… My cards are EU models (if there is such definition).
