I have been able to record TV on the HVR 1850 but have not been able to see live TV. Will this card be supported for live TV in the future?

If that card is on the supported hardware list, and you use it with Plex right now to record, then you can watch live TV using that card. You should review the FAQ pages for the DVR/Live TV information - there are only two ways to watch live TV right now, and that’s using iOS clients or Android TV clients.
