Recently there was an update to the Apple TV client saying that live tv closed captions now work. Nope, they don’t for me. I tried several different stations and swiped down to confirm that the CC track was selected in playback settings.
I also have a Shield TV, with which closed captions have never worked. With live tv here I’m not even given the option to turn on CC. And with recordings I’m given the option but told there are none to select.
But, I can take recordings made with PMS and play back the CC track in other apps such as MrMC. It is there.
