Have to enter pin everytime I run Plex

Hi, I've used Plex (for the Roku 3) for a while, but when the app for the Xbox 360 was released, I decided to give the PlexPass a shot to see how it would perform. So far, it's actually better than my roku! Well except for the fact that I have to enter the PIN to enable the app on my 360 each time I load the app, which isn't HORRIBLE, but very annoying, and completely eliminates anyone else in my household being able to use it.

I have two Xbox 360's and I've tried using one, registering it with the pin, restarting the Xbox and opening Plex again, and again it makes me enter a pin. It's the same for both Xboxes. I also noticed it doesn't always detect my device as an Xbox (I.E. when I enter the pin on the Plex site, sometimes it says "Your Xbox 360 has been registered!" while other times it says "Your device has been registered!"). Not sure if that's an issue or not?

Has anyone else experienced (or knows how to resolve) this problem?

Thanks!

Same issue, plex account can only link to a single xbox live account. When you use the pin on a different account, it unlinks from the previous. Plex has stated that they will look into it. Thats about all we have for the moment.

Same issue, in fact I just got onto the forums to post about this and happened to see yours. This is quite annoying to have to login every time someone wants to watch a movie and like you, I decided to get plex pass because of the 360 app. I have 4 Xbox's in my home and this is a huge inconvenience. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong within my settings. Anyone have a fix for this?

Since it's in preview and only for plex pass, the only way around it is to pay for another plex pass account. Obviously nearly no one wants to do this, but it's the way it is. I wouldn't look for this to change until it's released to the public and you can you non-plex pass accounts to access shared content.

Disclaimer - This is my best guess, I have no inside info. :)

I run my Plex for 360 on two xbox's. Works fine. You have to use the same XBox Live account on both consoles.

I think there is a way to log in to the app using your username and password instead of the pin method. Maybe look around for that in the settings?

There are running into the issue because they are using it across 2 accounts, which if this wasn't a preview wouldn't be an issue. Logging in with the username and password won't change this unfortunately. It's how the account is linked between xbox live and plex, the method you log in with won't change anything.

In a private message with an admin of this forum, I was told that there are no issues with using Plex with multiple Xboxes, and if anyone is experiencing this issue, it's a bug and they'll fix it. I did mention a few threads on here that are looking for answers, but I guess he missed it?

Regardless, if this is an issue then I have no use for a Plex pass at all. Paying a fee to stream media within your own home is a little silly to begin with. I guess I have to wait until they either update the app or until it's released publically without the need of a plex pass.

Again, there is no issue with using multiple xbox's. However, there is an "issue" when trying to link 1 plex account to multiple xbox live accounts since this is a 1 to 1 relationship currently. This will likely not be an issue when it's fully released as you will be able to use the free accounts for each profile.
