Having a problem standing up the Plex Media Server on Shield

Server Version#: ?
Player Version#: ?

I’m sorry I can’t provide details above, I haven’t yet gotten the system to work and I can’t tell what the problem is.

I have an Nvidia Shield, just purchased this week. I have hooked it up to my network, I have tested Netflix and Hulu and they work fine. I can’t seem to get Plex to work however. It just says “currently unavailable”.

When I try to login to my plex account in the browser, it can’t connect to the server either.

My question is if it can’t connect, what are the recommended pathways to troubleshooting? I have explored the interface and don’t see many options to manage configurations (or determine what server version I have).

The Shield is able to stream Hulu and Netflix without issue and my network devices are able to communicate with the Synology on which the media is stored.

Thank you.

I believe I have resolved my problems with a little bit of additional memory. I added a thumb drive to the Shield, configured the memory for the Shield in Shield settings, removed / re-installed the Plex apps in between reboots.

Now I’m up and running and so far without issue.

I think the starter playlist for new Shield users should include adding a USB memory stick to the setup.

It has been a night and day user experience for me with the additional memory.
