Having crazy problems adding new Agents to QNAP NAS

Hi folks,

I’m trying to add the fanart.tv to the list of supported Agents in my Plex install on my QNAP NAS. However, I can’t figure out how to make it appear in the list of Agents when I select that section from Settings.

I have installed the Agent manually via the UAS (unsupported app store), and it shows up as being installed in the “unknown” agents at the bottom as expected. I’ve also stopped, updated, and restarted with the latest version of PMS.

Am I missing some sort of easy “toggle these guys on so they appear” setting somewhere? Or is something else going on?

[Edit] I was able to find the /Plex Media Server/Plug-ins folder, and see a WebTools.bundle folder - but do not see the Fanarttv.bundle file or folder. Maybe I need to connect differently?

fanart.tv is supported by default. There is no need to ‘add’ it.

Ah, I found my mistake. I needed to click on the second tier and then turn on Fanart. Is there any recommendation on whether local media should be first or not? It was for me, but I moved below fanart on the theory that I need it to do its thing first.

Depends on if you have embedded metadata and other local assets like posters etc which shall be used preferably.

The agent at the top ‘wins’. The agents below it can only contribute if they offer something the agents above don’t deliver.

Is there a way to have two agents work together? Ie, I’d like to see a list of Plex suggested posters (by default Agent) and a fan poster art - so I can browse all of them together and select which to show. Right now I think you’re saying that if the first Agent offers posters, it blocks the second one from additionally offering choices?

With posters it’s working so that all posters from all activated agents are downloaded. The best-rated poster of the topmost agent gets used by default, but you can select any of the other posters when you ‘edit’ the item in Plex.

Oh excellent! That wasn’t obvious to me - thank you for the response!
