I have noticed audio issues over the last few versions of the server and players. Usually the audio will drop off then start playing at different times, thus causing varying sync issues with the video ( a second up to 5 seconds).
For example, I recorded a version of the CBS Evening news and had the commercials cut from the broadcast. Plex is also set to transcode the recording. When playing on the Samsung it’s shown on the dashboard as Direct Playing. The recording starts off with no issues. As it progresses it may hit an area in the show that was cut. The video continues with no audio, and at some point the audio will start to play from the cut point starting the sync issue. Vary rarely it will fall back in sync on it’s own during playback. But once the issue has started, a skip back will usually resolve the issue.
Now playing the same recording on the Server through the Web app (I assume). (this is where it get really weird) In the dashboard the video is shown as Direct Stream with the audio Transcoded from ac3 to AAC. As it starts playing from the beginning you hear the theme music that plays in the background but no vocal audio (so yes I know the speakers are working).
