When I play a movie or tv show, it randomly infinitely buffers roughly every 10 minutes or so. I’m then forced to refresh the chrome page and the movie will run fine for another 10 minutes before the never-ending buffering occurs again. This isn’t an internet issue, as after refreshing, it loads the movie instantly and runs fine. My server (qnap Nas) is in the same building as the laptop which I’m using to watch the movies. Whats happening? Thanks
Hmm, I’m still having this issue. I’m running plex from a QNAP TS-253D and using a web browser to view the videos. The videos are mostly H.264 and only 720p (sometimes 1080p).
What I still don’t understand is that I can skim through the entire movie really fast, and it pretty much loads the movie in seconds, so why does it randomly decide to start buffering infinitely every 10 minutes or so?

Above shows, that direct play was not possible, and a direct stream was selected instead
Your QNAP has an Intel® Celeron® J4125 4-core, so it should be able to handle a 720p direct stream, but sadly I do not see in the logs where it chocked on it, so guess you just uploaded logs without seen the issue?
Reproduce with that episode, and right after it happens, stop playback and upload a fresh set of logs
It happened a good 3-4 times this morning at about 11am. Would it show up as an issue if it just randomly decides to buffer forever? I generally just refresh the page when it happens.
I’ll give the Plex for windows a go now and see if it happens
