For the past few months I’ve been having an issue with my movies library whereby it doesn’t show all the metadata for newly added items after a scan. For example, the poster and title are shown, but the year and other info is missing. Then when I choose “Refresh Metadata” it adds the missing information. What also happens is that if I remove the media and replace it with a new rip, it loses all the metadata apart from the title, even the poster becomes just a thumbnail from the movie. Again, refresh metadata fixes it.

This should not be an issue following the Plex support articles will assist.

Well no, neither of those tell me how to solve this problem. My media is correctly named, the scanners are set correctly. It does all work, I just need to do it manually for some reason.
Well I don’t have that problem at all.
Have you set your advanced setting for Libraries.

This is what I have:
The higher the ranking the higher the priorty, drag those to order that works best. Having local assets high will result in your issue.
Also with cast and summary metadata i have found Move Database better. Cast photos more comphensive.
Reordering them didn’t make any difference unfortunately.
