HD HomeRun - Could Not Tune Channel

New Plex user here - I’ve looked through the help articles without much luck. Also searched the forums and and although I see lots of problems, didn’t see something that was exactly the same as my issue. So trying a posting here.

Problem- When trying to watch local live TV & DVR (any channel) from my Plex Media Server (either Firefox or Chrome) with HD Homerun tuner I get the error:

Playback Error
Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.

Configuration:

What works:

  • Using the HD HOmeRun Config utility I can scan channels and select “view” to watch a channel and playback is flawless (tuner works)!
  • Plex Media Server auto recognized the HD Homerun and I was able to successfully scan channels
  • Plex Media Server Channel Sources - Tuner Status for both tuners show green dots
  • Plex Movies & Shows, Live TV all work fine

What DOESN’T work:

  • local live TV & DVR (any channel) from my Plex Media Server (either Firefox or Chrome) with HD Homerun tuner I get the error
  • Also tried from Plex on Android and got similar error

Any help or clues appreciated!

Those directions don’t account for the ports required for Live TV & DVR which are a mixture of static and dynamic. As a test, disable the firewall to see if this is the issue. sudo ufw disable

Other common problem with TV & DVR will be the permissions on the directory.
ls -la the top of the library locations and post output.
