HDHomeRun CONNECT Quatro, QNAP and 'Could Not Tune'

Hello,

I’ve got a HDHomeRun CONNECT Quatro (4 tuners), and when trying to play live TV via Plex (web UI, but doesn’t matter), I get a ‘Playback Error: Could not tune channel’.

I am able to:

  • add the quatro to plex, it’s able to do discover, etc
  • see the EPG,
  • try recording (red icon is shown), but nothing actually happens
  • tune to the same channel using the windows hdhomrun app
  • tune to the same channel using plex on windows box

Interesting, but maybe not relevant:
In the Status pull-down, I see a number of live recordings. But when I go to EPG or recording screen there is nothing listed as recording. Checking on the HDHomeRun UI, none of the tuners are tuned and all are available.

Thoughts on how to proceed? I didn’t see anything interesting in the logs (below).

First thing would be to go onto Silicon Dust forums and make sure you have latest/greatest firmware for that model.

I would also try removing the HD Homerun from Plex, and then restarting Plex. Re-add HD Homerun back in and see if that makes any difference.

  1. FW is at latest
    |Hardware Model|HDHR5-4US|
    |Firmware Version|20180817|

  2. Removing HD homerun, restarting Plex and readding makes no difference. The failure is consistent.

Also make sure you have IPv6 Disabled.

This problem went away after upgrade to the recently release SW ( Version 1.15.1.780)

I am having similar problem. When I attempt to tune to a channel, the server actually crashes for me. I also have the quatro, firmware is up to date, and Plex server is current. IPV6 disabled.

What other setting are there that affect Live TV? MY EPG is there, I can set recordings (which won’t record)
