So I want to start using dvr on plex. I currently have a tablo which I know will not work, plex shows the hdhomerun, but not the hdhomerun flex. Before I commit I want to make sure the flex will work as my tablo has died and I would rather go with plex than buying a new tablo. If I get a Flex and it works other than the plex subscription do I need anythign else for dvr to work or does plex yust use my current NAS as it is now?
You can use the Flex 4k with Plex but only the older ATSC1 broadcast channels. Other than that, Plex finds the Flex 4k on the local network and the setup is pretty easy. It will dvr video to whatever folder you set for recordings.
Don’t get your hopes up for Nextgen/ATSC3 support in Plex.
