Plex (Version 1.11.0.4666) suddenly claiming ‘Device not found’, although device is online. I tried removing the DVR and reconnecting it, however it isn’t detected during the scan. I can enter the IP and proceed with programme guide update, however nothing will actually play, despite the fact I can see a connection from the HDHomeRun back to Plex (192.168.1.240) suggesting a connection has indeed been made. Everything has worked fine historically.
Have exported and looked through the logs, although to my untrained eye, I can’t see anything noteworthy. Happy to share these too if anyone cares to look.
Plex is extremely territorial and doesn’t like, well, no, doesn’t tolerate, playing with any other app/service/device/whatever that may look at/touch/use/glance at your tuners.
The screenshot you show for tuner status shows something else using it. Uninstall the (app/server/whatever) that may be using the HDHR and try again.
(the above is just my experience, and what I’ve seen many others make note of in the forums - your mielage may vary, but it’s a start)
@jamminr the device using it is the Plex server IP (192.168.1.240)
@chris the connect has the up to date firmware, just flashed it on when I noticed this problem, and the hdhomerun website detects the device and confirms the device is up to date.
@iamthew4lrus789 - Ok, but, is it Plex using the tuner in that image, or some other program on the same machine that Plex runs on using the tuner? If the latter, end/uninstall the program temporarily and try again.
If not, provide logs and hope someone knowledgeable enough 1) reads them 2) can go Ah HA!
Tried restarting or power-cycling the HDHR?
I can’t tell for sure (I rarely look at my HDHR Extend interface) but it seems that program number might climb every time a tune is made. Perhaps a restart might help.
Thanks for the replies. @jamminr - It’s a dedicated VM specifically for Plex - it’s just a vanilla centos build underneath. Nothing else running on it that would interface with the Connect. Have tried power cycling it, yeah. No luck.
Based on your screenshots it looks like your Connect is on a different network 192.168.2.11 than the PMS 192.168.1.240. Plex needs the tuner on the same network subnet. I would try getting the VM on your 192.168.2.x network.
