HDHomeRun Recording Quality on HD channel 567i MP2 audio

I have my Plex Server running on a Synology NAS with a HDHomeRun as my Tuner for Plex DVR.

Everything set up ok and I have pulled in the UK HD channels. Live TV playback is fine and the quality is great. Tried recording for the first time today and when playing back the quality was pretty poor and ‘blocky’. The video saved to the library as 576i resolution and MP2 audio which then needed to be transcoded to my Nvidia Shield TV where I was playing back, the video was still direct playing though. Normally Live playack direct plays audio/video fine.

Any ideas why Plex is saving the recording in this downgraded resolution and MP2 audio? I have checked all the DVR settings, the ‘convert video while recording’ setting is set to OFF and I can’t see anything else to control the quality of the recording.

I would expect it to record as the same quality as live playback. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Same situation for me with a WinTV Quad HD also in the UK; only playing and recording at 576i and a rather rubbish frame rate,

checked at http://server ip:32400/livetv/sessions/
