Have “an issue” that I was hoping some of you guys might be able to figure out a solution for.
Basically, I have installed a HDHomerun Extend at my parents place where they have TV channels.
I would like to somehow add this TV tuner to my local Plex server.
I do however not see any way of opening up ports or something similar to allow my local plex server to access the remote HDHomerun.
Anyone have any simple ideas or guides to how to solve this issue?

You have to add a server there as well.
But be warned: if your parents actually use this HDHR while Plex is trying to access it, it will result in a failure.
If you later want the recorded files over in your primary server, you’ll need to setup a way of accessing the file storage remotely, outside of Plex.

Thank you. That is however not the solution I am after.
I would like to add the HDHR to my Plex server as mentioned above - not having 2x servers.
I have heard discussions about creating VPN tunnels but have not seen any sort of guides or further info on how to make this happen.
