I’m providing the media info for this file. I have around 20-30 2160p Remux HDR Movies but this is the only one that doesn’t trigger HDR on my TV. Not from my Plex App on my 4K LG Tv and neither from my Beelink GT King 4K Android Tv Box. Any help?
*Everything Direct Plays Video/Audio like my other HDR movies.

It’s struck me as strange that the file is dual layer video when every 4K remux from reputable groups are all single layer.
The most notable exception being files with a 2nd Dolby Vision layer. However those are all in .mp4 format and your file is clearly mkv dual layer. There is talk of someone actively working to get Dual layer in mkv with HD audio but as far as I know it’s still extremely experimental.
Perhaps that file is such an example.
You are far better sticking for now to release groups who have a clue what they’re doing.
First off thanks so much for fast reply.
Yeah i noticed that too searching for diferrences with other HDR files. If i remove the second video track/layer with MKV extract and keep the main 2160p video track alone will it trigger the HDR?
It’s worth trying but there is no guarantee of success.
I actually have 484 4K HDR Remuxes all single layer and have never had an issue.
Fingers crossed. Will report back in a few hours as i do still work besides the pandemic.
No worries and I’m in the same situation regarding work.
I was hoping that this could work but apparently something is “wrong” in the format of this file.
This Movie File: SMPTE ST 2094 App 4, Version 1, HDR10+ Profile B compatible
All other HDR Movies files: SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible
I need to go deeper in this. If anyone knows what’s the problem and a workaround or what to do in this case to trigger HDR with that file particularly?
Is it a Plex apps’ issue that doesn’t support that kind of file? Both my TV and Android Tv Box support HDR 10.
Could you test a file with SMPTE ST 2094 in HDR info?
I’ve had some issues with this one as well. I have a high end computer but this one seems to cause stuttering with Direct Play and Plex has all sorts of issues with playback. All my other Remuxes work fine.
Does it enable HDR on your TV though or it plays with washed out colors?
That’s a dual layer HDR10+ video, with a HDR10+ layer, and a HDR10 layer. Plex only supports HDR10, and on the NVIDIA Shield, single layer Dolby Vision videos.
Thanks for jumping in. So it’s a Plex limitation. Like i said both my Tv Box and Lg Tv support HDR10+.
Copied the file in a USB Flash Drive and plugged it on my Tv. Played the Video and HDR enabled normally.
Any possibility to add support of this HDR format in Plex app?
Godzilla too has SMPTE 2094 format in it’s HDR.
And I’m pretty sure there are a lot more movies like these and more are coming.
It’s a dead end for Plex app to Playback these files since Tv Boxes and TV’s support HDR10+.
Can I get a sample file of HDR10+ content, please?
Uploaded a sample from 1917 movie. Also even with dual video layer Playing the file from a USB directly to my LG 43UJ630V TV it enables HDR on my TV correctly. Direct Playing from Plex just gives me Washed out Colors without HDR triggering.
Found a list of UHD HDR10+ movies which still gets refreshed : https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=300877
My TV DOES NOT support HDR10+ BUT…somehow it can play back the file and “convert” it to normal HDR10, at least without washed out colors.
(Maybe this is why it plays fine from a USB HD) LG said that their own “Active HDR” feature works just as good as HDR10+ and there’s no need for it. If this is true or not, we can’t know, it’s just what they said.

Oh wait.
Just noticed that you have Bohemian Rhapsody in your Library. Can you provide the Media Info for this movie? I think it his HDR10+.
Also how do you playback your movies? Through a Tv Box or from your TVs’ Plex app?
Adding additional information:
Played it through my LG WebOs Plex app inside the TV.
HDR Triggered fine.
So…problem only gets produced when i try to play it via my Beelink GT King 4K Android TV Box to my TV.
Can i provide any additional information to narrow down the issue?
*I’m using the HDMI cable that is provided inside the TV Box from Beelink.
**Changed ycbcr444, ycbcr444, ycbcr422, ycbcr420 with color Depth ON in my Android Tv Box settings.
***Version of my LG Plex App is : Version : 4.29.2
Version of my Beelink Gt King 4K Plex app is : 7.30.1 Latest one up to date.
****Tried different cables and all combinations of HDMI Ports.
*****Using the Old Player on my Android Tv Box(Which plays movies without an issue) as New Player produces so many issues(Stuttering/Stalling/Audio Issues or doesn’t even start 2160p HDR Remuxes giving me an error message)
Yep here you go.
Bohemian Rhapsody.txt (19.2 KB)
I have very recently started adding the release group to the Radarr naming. Sadly I grabbed that movie just before then. It will however absolutely be from 1 of 4 release groups and most likely from either epsilon or Framestor.
Finally, I have a Shield 2019 pro and an LG TV both apps play the HDR10+ as HDR10 without issue.
So if it plays fine through your Shield on your Lg Tv i suppose that my Android Tv Box is the issue? Need to narrow it further with more clues. Like i said it supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Tried with both old and new player from Plex App through my Box but didn’t manage to get this files’ HDR to work on my Tv. Playing from my Lg Web Os Plex app just fine looks suspicious to me and scratching my head to figure out what the issue is.
Beelink Gt King 4K:
