Headless plexamp, can it power ON an AVR and change source/control volume

If I connect my headless plexamp to an AVR, is there a way that when a song is playing that

  1. AVR is turned ON
  2. AVR is set to proper source input
  3. Volume control on plexamp control the AVR volume instead

CEC should do that, my other casting device seem to do it without issue, but plexamp won’t.

Plexamp to my knowledge does not have CEC functions. You might be able to add that functionality with some scripting though. I know there is a software package called cec-utils that can send CEC commands from Linux. Not sure how to hook into plexamp to see when you started playback though.

Thank, that’s what I thought also. Was not in the mood to write a software to send the CEC command when plexamp is doing any action.

In case you are not aware, one of plexamp dev wrote about an undocumented notification service for plexamp, so can always use that…

Will see what I can do, just sad Plexamp doesn’t do it by default.
