Heat and battery drain issues iOS 13

Currently running Plex 6.3 (18417) on my iPhone 7 Plus. I transcode and save to my phone as I’m away a lot and want to watch shows/movies when in airplane mode and in places with low internet speeds.

Ever since iOS 13 came out my phone has been getting really hot while watching with high battery drain. Also end up having to take case off phone to help with cooling as the video starts getting choppy. Never have had to do this in the past.

Mine is doing the same, 90 minutes of using Plex on Iphone 7 is now draining 75% of my battery. It has started doing this in last 2 weeks, since IOS was updated. I know there were issues with the IOS draining battery but they have fixed that its now the Plex app draining the battery. I don’t even stream as I download whatever to my phone when on Wifi at home. If this continues will have to look to alternatives.
