I have been a plex user for many years and have a plex pass. My old NAS, where I stored my media (and the drives themselves) were damaged in a lightning strike. So I have acquired a new Asustor NAS.
I installed the plex media server package from the app centre, ran it and logged in to my plex account. However, it cannot find the NAS at all. When I select an option for my media, it wants me to install the media server from the web. Can someone please suggest what I should do.
Thank you.
Steve
In order to complete the setup you need to open your Plex Media Server through its local IP.
If you’re on a different machine inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web. This will bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (as well as creating your first libraries).
Once you “claimed” your server (=linked it to your Plex Media Account), you’ll also be able to access it from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop.
