Help: Can't Get Shares to Be Accepted

I think this is a problem that’s been going on for a while, but I’ve just been able to get someone to walk me through the problem they’re having.

I’m running server 1.43.1.10611 on a Synology NAS. I’ve got pretty much all the social media bullshit turned off. Everything’s set to Private except for “Account Visibility” which is “Friends Only” because Plex won’t let me lock it down further. I don’t want “friends” on this platform.

I have a number of accounts which are already sharing my libraries and I’ve invited someone else to do so. Everything seems fine, but when they click through from the share e-mail it responds with an error saying “Oops, unable to accept the invitation…”, elaborating that “we couldn’t find the server that was shared with you, it could be that the person who invited you may have cancelled the invitation, or the link in the invitation e-mail may not have been preserved correctly”.

This seems to happen 100% of the time, and I can’t find any reason that the share wouldn’t be able to find the server as I can access my own server remotely.

Can anyone suggest a reason for this to be happening and anything I can do about it?

Thanks.

Tell the invited person to open app.plex.tv and log in with their own plex.tv user credentials.
Then they should click on their user avatar in the upper, right corner and then on “View Profile”.
Then on the button “Requests”.

The above should be done with a standard web browser, without any browser add-ins which aim to suppress parts of web sites (ad blocker, script blocker, cookie deleter, etc.pp.)

Thanks! I’ll give it a go.

ETA: Seems to have worked perfectly!
