HELP! Files not being detected

Hey all so this forum is too convoluted I have no idea where to post and if this is right but…

So lately I found that Plex isn’t detecting just one of my shows. I have the 1987 Teenage mutant ninja turtles animated series and it won’t detect for some reason.

Info: the files are all .mp4
I got them saved in a folder as follows:
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) → Season 1, 2, 3, etc → S01E01 - Turtle Tracks(.mp4)
**Also tested for ex: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - S01E01 - Turtle Tracks(.mp4)
How can I get this to work? What am I doing wrong? Please just point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance

There has been a problem lately with The TVDB.
Do a Match on the show. Instead of entering the show’s name in the search field use The TVDB series ID#. In this case 74582.

Unfortunately, what I meant was the files don’t even SHOW up in Plex. I even added the exact folder path to my “Library”. Nothing shows up. So maybe it’s not that the match didn’t work but something else.

Anything else I should try?

Do you actually have ( ) around .mp4 (.mp4) as you’re showing?
If so, remove them.

No. I just used that to show the extension is .mp4 but the title itself is either:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - S01E01 - Turtle Tracks
or
S01E02 - Enter the Shredder

trying to see what works

I set up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) \Season 1\S01E01 - Pilot.mp4 using a fake file.
Plex found it and even gave the episode the correct title.

I don’t know what is going on with your setup.

I assume you have other shows in the library that are working?

Yea. I have a bunch of other movies/files in that library but this 1 folder is the only thing that doesn’t get detected. Like no entry at all. So its not like a problem with matching.
Is that clear? Lemme know if you need more specific info

You have movies snd TV shows in the same library?
What type of library is it in the settings? What Scanner and Agent are you using?

Actually going back through it, It’s all movies EXCEPT for TMNT. Maybe that’s the problem?
I was trying to make like a “For kids” section. So like G-PG rated content goes in there.
As to what you asked:
Scanner: Plex Movie
Agent: Plex Movie
Library Type: Movies

So is it cause everything is set to movies, it won’t see the TV series?
If so, What should I change to make this work?

Movies need to go in Movies libraries, TV Shows need to go in TV Show libraries. They can’t be combined.
I’ve got kids Movies and kids TV Shows set up for my friend’s kid. They figure it out better thsn we do. :blush:
