Help! Plex doesn’t detect

Hello there !

Plex doesn’t detect my tv show. It’s called “Les enquêtes du commissaire Maigret” from 1967. It’s perfectly registered on the TVDB. Still, despite all I have done, (structuring the files with the correct names ans structures in several files and under files ) the files are not detected. Any ideas ?

From my experience, Plex never just “fails” to find a TV show, even if it is unable to match a show to an existing one in databases. It will either match incorrectly (you will have a movie/show in your “Recently Added” that you didn’t add) or you will have an unmatched show (something with no poster and metadata).

Possible folder structure issue?
How is your folder structure? A show failing to scan at ALL implies that it has been improperly matched as a duplicate of an existing show. This happens often if your TV shows are in a sub folder one level deeper than the folder you list in the Library. For example, I used to keep the Scooby Doo shows in

Where my listed folder in Plex is the bold name. This resulted in one TV show showing up in Plex, with ALL episodes of all Scooby Doo episodes appearing as duplicates of eachother. Plex saw a whole bunch of "S01E01’s in each show and assumed they were duplicates of the same first episode of one show.
To check for this, change your library view to list by “Episodes” instead of “TV Shows”, then you can change the “all” drop-down to show “Duplicates”

If your folder structure is fine, and you do not see duplicates when you filter for them, you can try to force Plex to match the show immediately to the right show. You can add the tvdb ID to the folder name to force Plex to match the show, like this:
Les enquêtes du commissaire Maigret (1967) {tvdb-70597}
or
The Investigations of Commissioner Maigret (1967) {tvdb-70597}
I do not know how well Plex handles non-English show titles, but I expect it’d be fine to use the original name.

Thanks. It worked. I have forced Plex by adding the tvdb number at the title.
