Plex would expect to find television episodes in this structure:
The Specials/
Season 1/
The Specials - 1x01 - Russian Roulette.avi
(I use S01E01 notation to avoid all abiguities)
Once Plex has identified them incorrectly (due to a prior wrong name or ambiguous placement), the most reliable and quickest way to correct it is:
1. Move the specific directories (media) to some other location not scanned by Plex
2. Update your TV library
3. From the same control (gear on the left panel) , Empty the trash, followed by "Clean Bundles". Allow this task to complete (takes a minute or two for larger libraries)
4. Move your media back to the proper location with the proper name
5. Update the library again. You will see Plex add it again as new.
Edit: Please be certain to keep movie content separate from Television content as incorrect naming will result.
Thanks for the reply. I put all of the special episodes in a folder called "specials" which seemed to help split things up a little better, but only slightly. The episodes are all named exactly the same as they appear on TMDB, how you suggested naming them is how I originally had them named which caused very few of them to show up at all.
There must be some way of manually naming each episode and putting the shows into correct seasons inside Plex?
Create the appropriate 'rules' (format specifications) within filebot and Plex will not miss. 99.99% of the 'not found' and 'incorrect match' errors are caused from incorrect naming.
FileBot double checks your naming and gives you the option to correct ambiguities prior to putting them in your media directories.
I maintain tv episodes in /media/tv and movies in /media/movies.
I did fix it though! It turns out putting all of the different shows inside of a folder named "Derren Brown" (/Media/TV Shows/Derren Brown) is what broke the scrubber. I put each show in the "TV" directory (/Media/TV Shows/) and that fixed it.
