Help Needed: Device is offline or unreachable when connecting to Smart TV despite working in past

Hi all,

I’m seeking help running Plex via my Smart TV (Hisense brand, VIDAA software). It has worked in the past but has seemingly stopped working and presents the error: My device if offline or unreachable. We tried to connect to… your device requires secure connections yet something is interfering.

I have followed the steps noted from /secureserver and /noserver to no avail. I am running my plex server via the webapp on my macbook air, both are logged in and have been logged out and reset multiple times.

Strangely, Plex continues to function without error on my PS4 using the same Macbook webapp server. For whatever reason, my Smart TV has stopped cooperating with my set-up and would appreciate any help in diagnosing why this may be.

Seems the Plex player on my Hisense 50b7100uw (VidaaU 3.0 & Plex for Vidaa 3.13.14) also does not wat to connect to my local (same network) Plex Media server. I’ve tried setting the “secure Connections” setting on the Media Server to both “Preferred” as well as “Disabled” but Plex for Vidaa keeps failing to connect to my server with the error message "Server is offline or unreachable.

I’ve checked, and it seems my TV (although purchased early 2021) has been discontinued by Hisense. Is this the problem? Is Plex for Vidaa 3.13.14 still supported?
