Hey there plexers,
I really don’t know what your policy on cross referencing external forum posts is - but I’m somewhat lazy…
over at the MediaPortal forums I posted this:
[Help needed] TsReader.ax is givin’ me a hard time…
I’m almost done with my MediaPortal plugin - it’s almost feature perfect (browsing, searching, streaming music, streaming video!) now and I’d like to release a RC version as soon as possible.
The problem I encountered lies within transcoding and quality settings:
When I’m requesting a transcode session with quality 1500kbps_480p (query: “&quality=5”), I’m able to play the resulting Transportstream without a hickup in MediaPortal.
But whenever I try to select a lower quality like 320kbps_240p (query: “&quality=3”), the resulting Stream isn’t playable within MediaPortal/readable with MediaPortal’s TsReader.ax…
Over in the linked post I attached two sample files.
buffer_q1.ts was transcoded with 320kbps_240p, and buffer_q3.ts with 1500kbps_480p quality. When I open them in GraphStudio only q3 is read correctly…
For the lower quality the ts-splitter doesn’t seem to find any video data :.-(
Anyone with a little hint on why this is happening? And why is the lower quality file bigger in size at half the resolution and only one second longer runtime?!?!
Anthrax
PS: over at http://code.google.com/p/myplexmedia/source/browse/#svn%2Ftrunk%2FPlexMediaCenter I tried to encapsulate all of the Plex interfacing stuff (incl. xml deserialization for the complete Plex API via XSD). So this might come in handy for anyone trying to build some Win32/64 clients on their own…
Cheers.
