Help setting up PlexAmp on a Raspberry Pi

Hello,

Is anybody prepared to help me set up Plexamp on a Raspberry Pi or point me in the right direction? I can’t find any official support/knowledge base. I have a Raspberry Pi 4 (I think). It has a DAC HAT (although I couldn’t figure out how to get this to work at the time I purchased it). My original intention was to use it with Roon, but I have since ditched my Roon Subscription.

I would love to get Plexamp running on it so I can listen on my HiFi system. I have an integrated amp with RCA inputs or I could use an external DAC (USB or HDMI input).

I really don’t know where to start or what OS I should try to install on the Pi or even how to go about that. I think I need a beginner’s guide or a lot of hand-holding.

I hope someone out there can help

recommend the install instructions and script from @odinb1 as a starting point …

Brilliant, thank you! I will take a look at it this evening.

Hi,
I have a DAC HAT from a company called inno-maker. It is compatible with the following images… Do you know if Plexamp will work with any of these?

To me, they all look like Plexamp alternatives/competitors apart from the Raspbian image so I will try that first.

from what I can find, that DAC HAT uses same setup as an Allo Boss DAC, which I think is one of the HATs supported in the install script

recommend starting with Raspberry Pi OS Lite 64 bit for best results with Plexamp

As @tgp-2 pointed out, if this is the one you have, then you choose the “ALLO Boss HIFI DAC / Mini Boss HIFI DAC” during setup with the script.
If not, please be more specific on the exact model you have.
