Help. Unable to add new server

I have a server setup on my macbook, but I plan to build an unraid server soon and wanted to make sure I knew how to set that machine as my PMS, so I tried setting up a server on my windows pc. I can’t figure out how though. I want to be able to purchase Plex Pass now at the lower price and know that I can use it when I switch machines.

When I login to the plex website on the windows PC and go to open plex>settings>general it shows a server claimed that is my laptop server. There’s no option to claim my pc. I tried removing the server, but it just wants me restart PMS on the macbook. I tried deleting the files in Plex Media Server folder and reinstalling PMS, but that doesn’t do anything. When I removed the macbook server, I was able to actually go through the PMS installation wizard again on the PC, but it doesn’t create a server on the PC.

This is driving me crazy. What am I missing? Surely you don’t have to be an IT professional to do this lol.

That’s not how claiming a new server on Windows works.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, following the method to claim via opening from the system tray does not present me with an option to claim a server. It is the same as the screenshot I had posted. Following the Setup Plex.html method opens the plex app, but it is always stuck in the “initializing plex media server” loading screen.

Set the DNS server for the Plex server machine and the computer running your web browser to use either Google’s public DNS 8.8.8.8 or Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1

Are you using a standard web browser without any browser add-ins?
Don’t use Brave or other highly restricted browsers.
Disable all add-ins.

Is the server PC running a Windows Server Edition?

I tried changing the DNS settings on both the macbook(current server) and windows PC(attempted new server), but no change in outcome. I use safari on mac and chrome on the PC. It is windows 10, not windows server. I also tried disabling any browser plugins and disconnecting VPNs. I have attached views of the windows and mac screens.
