Hello there…long time Plex user, first time help seeker.
I have for years ran a Plex server on my Mac Mini with a USB-C NAS storages attached to the Mini. The Mini was connected to the internet via Ethernet, as was my Roku Ultra Box, so speeds were not generally an issue, though I would occasionally receive buffering errors. They were in the same room, with full basement access so hard wiring stuff was never an issue.
I have recently moved. Because of how the house is wired, my internet drop for the modem is in the living room, so my Roku is hard Wired to my Eero 6+ Router. The issue is my Mac Mini is on a different floor. There is no ability to run Ethernet cable to the new location, and as such my Mac Mini, the one I use for ripping my Blu Rays, is connected via wi-fi, with My NAS still attached to it via USB-C. This has now produced problems with Plex because the Wi-fi is not fast enough speed to play 4K HDR 7.1 TrueHD.
My question is this, is there a way that I can have two different NAS units, or one NAS and a Hard Drive attached to the Roku, one upstairs on my Mac and one downstairs hard wired to my Roku for the Plex to use, removing the wi-fi bottleneck, yet under my one user account?
If this is possible, would anyone know if it would be possible for me to see the NAS connected to the Roku from my Mac as a network drive so I can move files easily after I rip the Blu Ray.
I have tried searching the forms and the internet and can not seems to find an answer, and I really do not wish to move from my Roku to a Shield with attached an attached NAS.
Thanks for your help
