Help with My Media

I do not know how this works. Or if I am in the right place for help. But recently Windows forced an update, then Plex would not work, or at least it would not pull up My media. Finally I realized that I needed to download the latest Plex server (I downloaded 1.40.5.8921). It works for most things, like Movies and TV shows. But the other library’s I had that were for “Other videos” could be seen but I can no longer add anything to them. When I ask it to update, it doesn’t even spin like it is looking for anything. Please help me if you can.

Thank you for any help. As i’v said, I can download a movie or TV show and put them in the path for the Plex server and they show up fine, but none of my Other Video librarys work, like: I have a library for my Grandson called “Everett Stuff” I have two locations where I put videos for him and they show up in Plex. But now I can not add anything to it. Nothing else will show up or even be searched for when I press “scan Library files.”

Plex is seeing the files and is indexing them,

(censored the actual filename) But looks like you are mixing base folder and subfolder systems: I:\Media\Everett stuff\file.mp4 and I:\Media\Everett stuff\videoname\videoname.mp4 the first format can work, but is not recommended, and mixing the two can cause issues. What I would do is in plex delete the library, optimized the database, clean the bundles and then re-add the library.

I will try that. But I turned my computer off because a storm was coming. When I turned it back on again I can not access any of my media again. I already downloaded the latest server. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks

I’m sorry, I don’t know what you are asking. Is this found some place?

I tried downloading the server again ( Version 1.40.5.8921) and it worked, I am able to see my media again. But if the computer is turned off again will this happen again?
