HELP! 'your connection to the server is not fast enough to stream this video'?

Hello Plex user’s, I suddenly now keep getting this error when playing media remotely not on the home network. my computer that i’m using for plex is using a i7 6700k, 32gb 3200mhz with hdd connected on a wired connect with a stable connection speed of 100/40 and only used for 1-2 streams max at 1080p 8mb and the client end user device has a connection speed of 50/50 stable and i still receive this error, I’ve tried changing settings to see any difference but no luck, my PMS is currently on 1.3.0.3059.

if there is any solution to this problem or if anyone has the same issue please share.

There is a new PMS (1.3.1.3102), see if that fix the problem.

oh sorry, wow on my behalf long day i keep on getting this ‘your connection to the server is not fast enough to stream this video.check your network or try a lower quality’ and I’ve updated my PMS to 1.3.1.3102 (update came out today) manually as my old Pms said it was up to date. after ive updated this still hasn’t fixed my issue.

have you tried what the message says " select a lower quality" ? , and about future PMS updates select plex pass server instead of public (maybe you already done that)

yes i have tried selecting a lower video quality and no results. but based of the hardware and my network speeds it should be plenty enough to stream 1 - 2 streams at 1080p and thank you for the plex pass instead of public tip.

That message is normally due to network slowness. Is the remote location physical far from you? If so, the latency between the locations can cause this.

the connection is maximum 10km away on a 50/50 connection,i’ve tested this with no other devices connected.

Can you provide your PMS after someone plays a video and gets that error?

I think @MovieFan.Plex really wants to see your LOG files and not the whole server…

Hah. Good catch. I did mean the PMS logs.

wow I’m an idiot… here are the logs, the file above is from the web debug. SORRY

Those times listed is how long it took the client to receive that portion of video. So something is definitely wrong. It does look to be network related, but I can’t tell what. It could be on your end or on your friend’s end.

hmmm,ok ill try a different connection see if it makes a difference
it mentions TLS so its a security protocol issue?

Your clients use a secured connection to talk to your server. If you think this could be an issue, you can turn off security from your server then in your client there should be a setting to allow insecure connections.
