Server Version#: 1.15.0.659
Player Version#: 3.77.4
I’ve been running Plex in the official Docker container on Ubuntu 18.04 for a while now and haven’t had any issues. Since upgrading to 1.15.0.659 any media using the HEVC codec no longer plays. I was halfway through a show encoded with HEVC. Paused it, came back to it after the upgrade and it no longer plays. Same with a few other shows I have encoded in HEVC which I was watching fine beforehand.
I did run into another issue where the upgrade broke the container completely and Plex would not start. I had to pull down the latest issue to fix that problem and then noticed the HEVC issue not long after.
I get the following messages in the console now when attempting playback:
[CompanionPlayer] We already have a handler, overwriting.
Failed to find encoder ‘h264_qsv’
[Transcoder] [hevc @ 0x25be440] No support for codec hevc profile 2.
[Transcoder] [hevc @ 0x25be440] Failed setup for format vaapi_vld: hwaccel initialisation returned error.
Everything else seems to work fine. Has anyone else seen this since?
Thanks
