I have changed my password for Plex and I am now not able to see any of my libraries. I put the URL of the server with the correct port into Chrome and it asks me to login and then I am left with a home screen that is blank. When I look under More on the home screen, it does not even show my server even though I just logged into the URL with its IP address!!!

I have tried the help topic about deleting certain registry keys under Plex, Inc. but that made no difference. I have logged directly into the Linux box and can see all the appropriate directory structure that all my libraries were pulling from. I have checked the service is running…

xxxx@XXXXXX:~ $ sudo systemctl status plexmediaserver

Does anyone have any pointers please?

On a Linux server it’s not the Registry, but the preferences.xml file that must be edited

Please see: https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/ and look for Linux

Thx for the quick reply Dane22. I already tried removing the entries in the preferences.xml file without success.

I found another article that recommended stopping the service, renaming the preferences.xml file and restarting the service. That seemed to fix the issue and it found my existing libraries when I went through the setup, including all my watched data.

Thank god!

Thanks again.
