Hello,
I have been unable to access my media library since the password breach last year. I changed my password and have been trying various troubleshooting techniques, but with no success, I paid for the lifetime membership back in 2022 and it worked flawlessly (both locally and remotely) until the password change. I imagine if I am able to get the server to run, my library would appear, but I can’t even verify that.
You probably opted to sign out all devices when you reset your password. That includes the server itself. You’ll need to re-claim it, so the regular Plex apps can see and access it.
Can you still access your server using http://127.0.0.1:32400/web on the same machine?

If you can’t see the server at all… is it still running?
You should see the Plex Media Server‘s icon in your system tray.
Are you using the same Plex account or did you possibly create a different account since setting up your server?
If so, you might need to unlink the server before reclaiming it.

I am using the same account. I only changed my password. I will try your next recommendation. Thank you
Any other suggestions?
Not much of a suggestions, just thoughts…
I had previously missed your point about the server “not opening” and the server icon not being active. If it’s not running… how do you get to access it using the bundled web app (http://127.0.0.1:32400/web)? Are you running the server “as a service” using a different Windows account (background job)?
Your registry is also showing references to a VPN – that might be getting in the way of what PMS perceives to be local, hence not giving you access to the “inside” of your server.
Hi again…it finally is working again. I deleted everything from the registry and reinstalled and it’s working. Thank you for your help!
Only minor issue is the dates of my entire movie collection has the download year instead of the movie release date year displayed. Other than changing each movie individually or refreshing the metadata (which I have done), is there a way to accomplish this large task? Thanks in advance.
Do your movies have embedded metadata listing the wrong year? Otherwise, the only aspect where Plex should list the download/creation date is when listing the recently added hub or sorting the items by date added (IIRC on first scan, Plex is using the file date as date added).
