For the last month or so, I have been unable to see Cast and Crew for individual TV episodes on the android app. They work just fine for the web player, but they will briefly flash up on the screen, before being hidden permanently. The season and show sections still have the Cast and Crew Section.
I liked seeing the actors in individual episodes. Was this feature removed?
Does anybody know why this feature might have stopped working?
I have 10.2.0 installed and the cast crew does show up there. Have you updated to that version yet? Though I don’t recall it being missing in previous versions.
I actually installed 10.3 (beta) to see if that would fix it. Still missing. What’s really odd is that they appear for a split second, and then disappear. Almost like they’re being shown and then having a hide operation done to them when the page fully loads. I checked every setting imaginable on both my server and the phone app. No luck. It was a nice feature when it worked.
is it possible to get a bit of the android log when that happens?
- If you use the network option and connect to the phone with your computers browser via IP you can see the logs.
- Scroll down to the very bottom and take note of the last time stamp in logs.
- reproduce issue by going to a episode screen where the cast disappears,
- then refresh the logs page again in browser and everything after the noted time stamp should be the episode page loading and copy that bit to a text file.

I think I found the problem. It seems this query has excluded certain sections? I have no clue why.
Was that log sufficient or should I do it again and get more?
I’m still experiencing this issue. Is there any word from the android team on why that might be?

I am having the same problem with the Cast and Crew not showing for individual TV episodes on the Android App. The Cast and Crew is showing up for me on the main account but will not show up for any of the home (managed account). It used to display for them until a few updates ago. We are on the latest version available (version 10.4.0.4843). It does display the Cast and Crew on our Android TV under the episodes like it should.
Will this feature be coming back with a newer version/update?
It seems something fixed it. I have no clue what, but there was a patch issued 8 hours ago that might have something to do with it. My problem is solved, so I’m closing this for now. If it disappears again, I will re-open.
