BTW, there is no “View All”, that’s been removed in the new app, it’s there in the old one.
Kinda sad that their own devs not even know what’s no longer in the app.

Weird, it’s there on my devices, both iOS and Android.
Version 2025.10.2 bld 1488 on Android installed via the Preview as I never got the main app replaced. I can also confirm I’m using the Plex Movie agent. I do have local assets enabled (not metadata) so maybe that is a factor.
If it matters, my working iOS device is running version 2025.10.2 (981); my library is using Plex Movie/Plex Movie.
Thanks the both of you @dokuro @Lazarus_Long. I’ll see what I can find. There is a definitely a disconnect somewhere as you should definitely be seeing Cast AND Crew.
you should definitely be seeing Cast AND Crew
@Atomatth I’m using the Plex Experience Preview 2025.10.2 (981) on iOS. The agent I’m using is the official Plex agent. My TV library can display the Cast AND Crew information, but my movie library doesn’t show the Cast AND Crew at all.
@dokuro and @Lazarus_Long can you please provide the app versions and confirm that you’re using the Plex Movie agents. It might be good to split this Cast & Crew discussion into it’s own thread.
@dokuro @Atomatth I realised that the full cast and crew option is a discovery feature, so if you have that turned off then it will use the PMS data only which doesn’t have the comprehensive data that discovery does.
I’ll open an issue to make sure we have the other main credits (e.g. writer, directors, etc) visible when this is the case as PMS does have that data at least.

Okay, then why does it appear when using the existing app and not the new one ? It sounds like just another example of a change in functionality to remove something we had before.
Nothing intentional.
If I had to guess it’s probably a bug on the old app, if you have the discovery source disabled I would expect this to not show and instead just show the PMS data.

Have to come back to this again as your logic makes no sense to me.
Looking at the xml data for the movie I can see Director id and Writer id all present and looking in the db I can see in the metadata_items table the tags for these. So this should not be tied to discovery as I have all the data local.
Anyhow, if what you are telling me is true that Cast is available without discovery but Crew is not then I stand by my initial reaction as its a REMOVED piece of functionality with your updated design.
and fwiw, I see Cast and Crew in both the web app and the Plex mac desktop client. (I have discover disabled)
That’s right.
I have Discover disabled but I can see Cast and Crew in the Web app just fine.
The same with the Apple TV app.

Yeap, this is a result of their updated clients (ios and android). All existing clients (lets call them legacy for now) don’t show this behaviour.
Nothing intentional.

I’ve had Discovery disabled for years but Cast\Crew references have always still functioned based on Discovery. It’s also been stated that Edition tags prevent titles from being listed under Cast\Crew pages specifically because Editions feature doesn’t work with Discovery.
Local search for cast\crew does work with Editions tagged movies.
I’m on new iOS Plex Experience and have had Discovery functions turned off and it looks like my Cast\Crew is pulling the same info as “legacy” Plex app - using Discovery. Which is what I expected and hope continues because it’s a good feature (even if Editions tags break it a little).
I do not get a “view all” option when scrolling cast\crew - I basically get an “all cast” list (movie titles scroll cast on that row forever).

I’d second that. ![]()
I grabbed all the comments that were specific to the topic of Cast and Crew. Hope that was ok with everyone who’s comments were moved. The issue has been filed. This looks like an oversight and not an intentional removable. I doubt the fix for this will be in the upcoming next release but we’ll get it sorted out. I know this is one of many issues that were reported but that’s how we’ll chip away at them, one at a time. Thank you for reporting and for you patience. Sorry for the inconvenience, frustration, and confusion.

I’ve added some custom cast metadata (Add custom cast metadata to personal media (Home Movies)) to the entries so I can track who’s in which videos and these used to render a “Cast & Crew” section in the old app. This section still renders on the web app but no longer shows up in the iOS app’s item view. This seems like a regression? The metadata is there.
