Hidden collections

TL;DR Hiding collection forces shows within that collection to be visible.

I have my TV shows sorted into a number of collections - e.g. Family shows, Kids shows, etc.

I’ve started using the plex-cleaner script and want to use collections to help manage that. For example, I’ve created a collection called “keep forever” that I can then tell plex-cleaner to ignore.

The Kids shows collection is set to “Hide items in this collection” such that the collection is shown in the TV shows page, but the shows within that collection aren’t and you have to go into the collection to view them.

I then add some of the shows that are in the Kids collection to the Keep Forever collection too.

I don’t really want to see the Keep Forever collection in the library, but if I set it to “Hidden”, then shows that are within that collection become visible in the library - even though that collection is hidden and the other collection they are in is set to “Hide items in this collection”.

Surely, if the collection is hidden, then either its contents should be hidden too, or probably more realistic, it shouldn’t have any bearing on whether the shows are visible in the library or not??
