High ram usage on Synology DS218+

Server Version#:1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: -
Hello, I have a problem of high ram usage. I have 2GB and Plex is now using 1,35GB. It seems a bit to high, doesn’t it?
If I restart the server, plex initially takes 100MB, after few hours it sits @ around 1.3GB.

I’m using the latest version. Any idea??

Actually No. Linux will use all the RAM at some point. It’s the nature of Linux.

The initial load size is for just the code. That is correct. As PMS loads your library into memory, it will consume more and be proportional to the size of your library.

It’s important to know if the RAM usage is in Plex or just in Linux itself.

if you can show all the different memory usage stats, I can help you sort it out.

For most users, 4GB on a Synology is a good starting point. For those with HW transcoding capability 8GB works much better for multiple streams.

Thanks

please see here

I got 2GB onboard, but I will consider an upgrade.

EDIT IT’s Plex DLNA…

How many items do you have Indexed?
The number indexed is directly proportional to the amount of RAM used.
The size you show is not unusual.

It’s Plex DLNA, disabling it has solved…

is it normal?
