Plex worked very well until 2 weeks ago on a Hisense TV (H65U7B)
We bought the TV less than a year ago.
(keep in mind that the TV in question is not on the local network)
Plex works well from other terminals from that LAN (which is different from server one).
On the Hisense TV it refuses to load the server content on the TV (authentication ok but no content from server).
I tried to disconnect and reconnect: it did not work.
I wanted to uninstall the application on the TV but a message tells me that PLEX is pre-installed and that it cannot be removed (and I think that consequently the possible updates are done automatically as there’s no option for that).
Plex TV version is 3.13.14
I didn’t notice the VIDAA version but I did think to check that there was no update.
Here is the error I get (sorry it’s in French)
From what I’ve read here and there, it could be a security issue that causes the connection to be denied. However, in the articles I read about it, it requires going to settings > network > and changing a setting that is NOT present on the TV…
On the server side, I have the “preferred” option for Secure Connections.
(I’m sorry to create this topic all other similar looks closed)
I have the exact same Hisense app and started to get that message today. Yesterday it worked fine. Even watched a whole movie.
My server and TV are in the same local network and I deactivated secure connections on the server.
The TV app doesn’t have any setting to disable secure connections.
Is it supposed to work because it is on LAN?
On my browser, I can just type the IP and access Plex web with http (not https).
