Hisense Plex app stopped working & reverted back to old version after TV firmware update

3 days ago, there was a firmware update for my TV and when I tried to use the Plex app yesterday, I got the error message that said it couldn’t connect to my server because it needed secure connections. When I checked the app version, I found out that it had reverted back to 3.13.14 which I know is not supported anymore.

Before the TV firmware update, the plex app version was 5.29.1 & it worked flawlessly. Now I can’t use the app anymore on my TV & I am forced to use Plex on my PS5 instead. Why did the Plex app on my TV revert back to an older version when my TV is running on VIDAA U4? Can someone from Plex contact HiSense about this & help me with this issue? There is no way for me to manually update the app on my TV & I would really appreciate some help with this.

I am having the same issue… Really don’t know what to do as i have tried all the usual fixes (clear cache and delete cookies on TV). i have another thread for the same issue. If i get a response i will let you know !

A few days ago, the plex app on my hisense tv suddenly updated itself to version 5.29.1 & now it’s working normally again.

There was no firmware update. I guess hisense fixed it themselves.
