Plex for Hisense broken after update 5.85.0

Player Version#: 5.85.0 (I guess)

Yesterday afternoon (26 Jun) I was watching Plex on my Hisense 55inch TV. Then a couple of hours later I came back and the app won’t start. I just get a purple circle, then a black screen. I’ve reset the TV and that doesn’t help. The app itself is broken.

Turns out that the app has been updated to v 5.85.0 on 26 June… Plex for VIDAA (Hisense televisions) - #90 by markus101 so I guess it was that update that broke the app.

Is there another update on the way?

I also am having problems with the version 5.85.
I used to have problems with older versions crashing due to insufficient memory, but I could fix it by turning off direct play and forcing transcoding. However, with the new version updated yesterday, even with direct play turned off, the app keeps crashing due to insufficient memory.

Vidaa sofware version: V0000.01.00A.N0530

Oh, interesting… The other day, Plex on my Hisense TV crashed so hard it took down the TV OS too. I had never seen any problems before.

But wait, my Hisense TV is an Android TV, not VIDAA.
