Hisense TV has version 3.13.14 of Plex for VIDAA even though latest is 5.4.1. How can I update?

Hi there! Pretty disappointed that I can’t update Plex on my brand new TV. It’s super outdated and I can’t get high quality 4k to buffer even over the ethernet, yet alone HDR or Dolby Vision.

The version I have, as stated, is Plex for VIDAA 3.13.14 but it does NOT seem to be on the VIDAA store - this app just came loaded on my TV. There is no option to remove, update, reinstall or anything like that.

This link here tells me that the latest version is 5.4.1 and was released YESTERDAY.

I am in Australia… SURELY it makes no sense that I can not use the recent versions of the software because I am in a different country? We are running the same Operating System on our TV’s, right?

Anyway, I would really love some help. Even if I had to sideload this from a USB somehow, I would be so happy to get it working.

Thanks for the reply. So I’m just stuck with the years old version of Plex if I want to use it on this TV? (edit: which I can’t lol, it doesn’t work, just buffers and stutters among other issues). I would’ve thought that the VIDAA OS would be the same whether in AU, EU or US - at least similar enough to be able to use the same app. I don’t get it. So disappointing :frowning:

Brad, I seem to have a similar problem with this 3.13.14 version on my Hisense TV. The server was recently updated and then the TV app stopped playing movies so i’m thinking that since this version is now obsolete, it’s stuffed my whole media centre up. Might just have to buy a new TV.
