HLG (HDR) seems completely broken on Apple devices

Server Version#: 1.32.6.7557
Player Version#: Multiple

Tried playing a HEVC video with HLG on several Apple devices (Desktop app, Apple TV 4K, iOS). The result is severe video stuttering, but audio seems to work. It works if I disable Hardware Decoding but no HDR. Chrome and Safari on Mac wants to transcode and they can normally play HEVC.

Friend was able to play successfully with all his devices (Windows app, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV and even Chrome on Windows). It also plays fine in IINA on MacOS, both with HDR and without.

Something with Plex and Hardware Decoding HLG on Apple devices? Is this known?

There are at least another 2 threads just as lengthy on the subject.

If in your case it ONLY happens with HLG then think yourself fortunate. :joy:
