Over the last month or two my manually managed home screen on the android tv app keeps having random (or sometimes all!) hubs just disappear. If I go to edit the hubs they’re all listed there, but they won’t show up until I delete and readd them (reordering them isn’t sufficient). This happens every couple of days and across multiple devices so I’m fixing this daily.
Really not sure what’s causing them to disappear either as it’s not correlating to when I update the server or app.
What i have found in my case, i never like to have the playlist pinned to the left menu, but it would seem that it must be pinned for the “recent playlist” to appear on the home screen. and the home screen also now seem to reflect the order of the pinned menu.
Don’t like to have the playlist pinned to the left menu, nor to have it first after the home level on the left menu, but it is the only way i can get “recent playlist” items to stay on the home screen.
This is ridiculous. My home screen has trashed its self 3 times in as many months. Most recently (I noticed it first last night but I’m not sure exactly when it happened, probably in the last few days) my home screen had my hubs listed 4 times in a row. My normal config is:
On Deck
Recently Added TV Shows
Recently Added Movies
Recently Added Videos
Those 4 hubs however were duplicated 4 times. When I went in to manage the hubs, if I selected one of the repeated hubs from the end of the list and deleted it (like the 3rd On Deck entry for instance), the first one earlier on the list would actually disappear! Fine, whatever.
Once I deleted all the duplicates and put them back in the right order, I exit out to the home screen… to find that the 4th hub is missing. So I go to my ‘One-Offs’ library on the sidebar, edit it, and try to add the Recently Added hub back. Except it’s already got the little house icon showing it’s enabled. So I turn it off, turn it back on… and still, it doesn’t appear on the home screen.
The previous time my home screen trashed its self, it just came up completely blank one day. So at least I’m making progress, I guess.
In either case, the only way to fix it is to reset the entire homescreen to default, and start over fixing all the sidebar entries and hubs the way I want them.
