BTW love this app, been using it for over a decade as a lifetimer…
We need options for configuring the Home screen with things such as “Continue Watching”, pinning a Category to the home screen (showing the top # of movies from a category), pin your Watchlist, Removing the Recommended or making it useful, etc. We’re sorely missing the options for configuring the Home screen in the media app on Roku and on the web home/dashboard.
Right now the only options we have are “Recommended” and “Watchlist”. The Recommended defaults to “Recently Added Movies” and “Recently Released Movies”, however, those tend to be mostly useless because they stay there forever.
You can see the “Continue Watching” when you’ve started watching a Plex Movie, but not one of your own movies from your own server.
The home screen should be configurable for each User Account. We have multiple users as we have a General account for Airbnb visitors and one for us. It would be nice to create and pin a category called “About the Town” and post videos on the local attractions or links to YouTube videos.
The Categories on the left don’t automatically appear, you have to know to click the left arrow on the controller for the categories to appear. How is someone supposed to know that if they’ve never used Plex? And there is considerable confusion when you visit the Home screen if multiple people are using it as the “Recommended” screen is chaos.
The FIRST screen a person see’s when they use the Plex app should be impressive, not confusing. One the of most important considerations for product adoption is the useability factor. A little help?
