Home Screen Is A Mess

Duplicates over and over again and again.

New videos with no duplicates files is showing on the home screen with duplicates entries. This makes the home screen/front page completely useless.

Is there a way to remove all these duplicates entries.

So much bugs in plex now.

Do you mean the same movie showing in different hubs (e.g. recently added and recently released)?
What’s wrong with that if a movie is in multiple categories like this?

Front page: Home → Recently Added Movies

Update libraries

Result: Every new videos show as duplicates. There is no physical file that are duplicate but plex now list all new videos with duplicates entries. In other the words Movie ABC is show twice or more on Recently Added Movies.

On which exact version of PMS are you experiencing this?
Does this persist if you reload the page / restart the player and is it consistent across different players (e.g. Plex Web, HTPC, mobile / big screen apps)?

Version 1.41.6.9685

Reload page, restart server, reload server, etc the results are the same. Duplicates movies entries listed on the Home → Recently Added Movies.

If I scan again Plex list the same movies in duplicates again and again.

Can you share your server logs after doing such a messy scan?

Plex Media Server Logs_2025-05-09_13-55-26.zip (3.9 MB)

Log file.

Ok it is fixed. User error. Thanks for the help.

For the record.

My setup is JBOD and not RAID.

Put a new 14tb drive into plex.

Added/Linked the new libraries, unfortunately two linked libraries where link to the root instead to the correct folders, ie Drama Movies and Animation Movies. So it was scanning the root on the new drive instead of the folders. That’s why there were duplicates.

Once I linked it to the correct folders the duplicates entries were deleted immediately.

I found the mistake by accidentally looking at the animation library and found non animation movies listed.

Thanks for the help. 100% user error.
