Downloads/Sync FAQ | Plex Support states:
Managed users will be able to use Downloads as long as the admin of the Plex Home has an active Plex Pass.
And:
Existing Plex users will be allowed to use Downloads with any shared server as long as the admin of that server has a Plex Pass. This will preserve the current behavior with Sync.
I have an active plex pass on my user/server but have an unmanaged Home user/account without plex pass that a friend uses that cannot download anything, even on site. The friends account is quite old (created July 2017) which I think predates the shift to Downloads and should have this access. The home user/friend account does not have plex pass as the FAQ has not stated it was needed for downloading items.
What is going on? Is this feature more locked down than before? This account has been able to download items in the past, I’ve tested that working with my friend.
