Player Version#: nvidia shield/ android App
I have 2 plex servers. One running on a Windows ten pc and another on nvidia shield. I predominately use plex player via nvidia.
In last month or two I have noticed lots of my films (dvd rips) are now displaying thick horizontal bars that were not there previously.
Has anyone heard of an update that has messed about with the picture formatting?
Can you provide a screen shot?
I can take a photo from my phone. Essentially I have thick black borders to the left and right of the picture it looks as if plex is squeezing the image.
I have tried casting the same file via solid explorer cast and it is displaying full screen as plex used to, so presumably this has to be a plex configuration issue.
Apologies I originally wrote horizontal bars. I meant vertical. I’ll blame tiredness!
Ok, if the image doesn’t look right, sounds like maybe the aspect ratio is not encoded correctly in your file. Plex will use whatever it is told. Please provide the picture from your phone, and the XML from Plex.

Plex definitely previously played this file as full screen (with very slim vertical borders) in the same way it played via solid explorer cast this evening.
Is that playing from the Shield through the Plex App or are you using your phone to Cast the file?
Please, I still would like the XML for that file. The info page doesn’t tell me what I’m looking for.

Yes, playing through shield plex app.i took the screenshot from phone app for ease.

Thanks. The info looks right and it should be scaling properly. Looks like a bug. Let me see if I have a similar video to try and reproduce.
