Hey guys Im really excited to roll this feature out to my users, I can tell its really buggy as I tried even just the built in atari games and it just is black screen, then a million of plexrelay.exe processes spawned and people couldnt access plex until I killed them all and restarted plex.
with that said, I would like to have a separate server that can run the roms and games so if the games server crashes it doesnt effect the media server, as well offload the processing power separating the media and games servers.
is this in the works or can we already do it?
in reality I dont want to mess with this feature on my working PMS… anyway to test this out without having to create a new PMS and testing there?
There’s no hierarchy. Plex doesn’t have any concept of a “main” server. If you create another server and share Libraries from it, it’s just another shared Server+Library that’s now accessible to the users you share with.
No. Sadly, because I like Roku also. My suspicion is that it won’t come to Roku, but I’d enjoy being wrong.
Only Plex Media Server running on Windows or MacOS are supported (servers running on Linux, NAS devices, or NVIDIA SHIELD are not currently supported)
Plex Arcade is not currently supported on “headless” servers or for Windows users using a third-party tool to run Plex Media Server “as a service” (see more below)
Not available for Managed Users
Regular Plex users who are members of Plex Home will need their own Parsec account and their own Plex Arcade subscription
this is really unfortunate that A) they all need separate parsec accounts and have to pay another subscription fee.
that basically seals the deal for me and am not going to try to add this buggy beta into my libraries.
the beauty of plex is its simplicity, the users arent tech savvy they just want to click and watch or in this case play… I cant manage the users on a 3rd party sit to sign up then they pay 4$ for it… I just cant justify that for them
