Host's library showing as unavailable

My friend is the host of a Plex server, and I was able to access both of the libraries I was invited to until a couple of weeks ago. Since then, both libraries are shown in my sidebar but are listed as “Unavailable”

Clicking “Retry connection” just makes it spin for a few seconds and doesn’t seem to do anything before greying out.

Libraries are confirmed as accessible on the host’s server, as is my access. Host is a Plex Pass holder. Remote access is enabled on the libraries, secure connections are set to “ preferred but not required” (as per the steps in the error link)

I tried leaving and rejoining my friend’s server, cleared cache and cookies, as well as tried the desktop app and firefox – no effect.

Most of the forum topics have covered the experience of a host having trouble accessing their own libraries, rather than a guest.

Please let me me know what else I can do

Have you (or your friend) verified their remote access is actually working? Can they access their own libraries while they’re outside their home network?

Yep, they can access their own library remotely.

EDIT: Friend has confirmed that they can access their own library remotely (on their phone away from home network) but other people besides me are unable to.

I had a similar situation with a NAS. Plex said the NAS was not available. Tried Plex from smart TV and Windows devices. Everything else could get to it. Went through all possibilities. Final solution was to reboot the NAS.
